Summary of key points - UK to Spain

  • Before travelling to Spain all persons (including children under 12) must complete a Health Control Form. Once completed you will receive a QR code which you will be required to present to Spanish authorities at the Airport. This form cannot be compelted until 48 hours prior to your departure.

  • You will also be required to present proof of your fully vaccinated status. This can be obtained via the NHS app.

  • If you are fully vaccinated and travelling from the UK you will not be required to test or quarantine upon your arrival in Spain.

  • Under the Spanish government’s current measures, you can only enter Spain from the UK for tourism purposes if you can show proof of being fully vaccinated. Children under the age of 12 are exempt from this requirement.

Summary of key points - Spain to the UK

  • You must take a lateral flow test in the 48 hours prior to your arrival in the UK. The results of this must be available to show before you board the plane back to the UK.

  • You must book and pay for a PCR test to be taken within two days of your arrival in the UK. Currently you must also quarantine until a negatie result has been received. You are able to book a PCR test to be taken at most UK airports where same day, or next day, results are typically available. Alternatively you can order a PCR test through the post, but this may elongate the quarantine period.

  • You must complete a Passenger Locator Form - this cannot be completed until 48 hours prior to your arrival in the UK.

  • You cannot use NHS Lateral Flow or PCR tests to satisfy this criteria. A travel test provider must be used, authorised companies can be found on the Government website here

  • Please do make your own judgement about which travel test company to use, we have found the stated prices on the Government website to on occasion be a little misleading. This is by no means a recommendation however for information only purposes the most cost effective Lateral Test provider we found to be at the Vivo Clinic - £14.89 per person. For PCR tests to be taken at home we found Screen4 to be the most cost effective - £50 per person.
